2023-2024 Springfield Literacy Center Principal Announced

Hello, SLC Family.

I am honored to be the newest principal of the Springfield Literacy Center, starting on July 1, 2023!

Kindergarten is right where I began my dedication to the Springfield School District, and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to bring my career full circle. Over the past eighteen years, I have supported students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  My service includes a variety of roles: an elementary teacher at Scenic Hills, a special education teacher at SHS, Teacher on Administrative Assignment at the SLC, Supervisor of Special Education, and, most recently, as Assistant Principal at ETR. I am truly honored and humbled to continue to serve the families of Springfield and Morton communities in this capacity.

Working with students has been a life-long passion dating back to my undergraduate studies at West Chester University. I then earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Cabrini College and my administrative certificate from Gwynedd Mercy University, where I continue to take classes to enhance my love for teaching. In addition to completing my class work, my free time is spent coaching competitive cheerleading and traveling with my husband, Mark, and our four daughters, Anna, Erin, Ava, and Riley.  Our most recent adventure was to Ireland where we visited with family and traveled the Atlantic Coast.

As principal of the SLC, my commitment is to work in partnership with our families to assure that each child reaches their best potential. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with fantastic students, a dedicated staff, and a supportive parent and school community.  I look forward to officially meeting our SLC families at the SLC Meet and Greet in May.  In the meantime, have a pleasant day, and always remember: We are Happy to Be at the SLC!

Thank you.
