Hello, Scenic Families.
I am thrilled to be joining the Scenic Hills Elementary community in the coming months as Principal for the 2023-2024 school year. I have been a part of the Springfield School District community since 2017 as Assistant Principal at ETR and at SHS. I started my career in Philadelphia as a middle years special education teacher and then moved into administration in 2011. My leadership experience prior to SSD has been in schools serving students in grades K-8, including Director/Assistant Principal of Student Support, Principal, and Regional Director of Special Education. These experiences will be invaluable as I work to ensure all students at Scenic Hills learn and grow throughout their elementary experience.
To help us get to know each other, here is a snapshot of my background. I earned a bachelor's degree at Louisiana State University (LSU) and a Masters of Education at Chestnut Hill College. I earned my Principal Certification at Temple University, and I am currently working toward my Doctorate in Education at West Chester University. I live in Philadelphia with my husband, Billy, and our beagle, Annie. In my free time, I enjoy brunches with friends, walking Annie, watching LSU sports with the local alumni association, watching live music, taking dance classes, and making trips to South Louisiana to visit my family there.
I believe that a strong academic foundation and social development in the elementary years are keys to lifetime success. I am so excited to return to working with students in the elementary grades because it will allow me to help them thrive and grow. I look forward to meeting you at the Scenic Hills Meet and Greet in May and working together! The sky's the limit at Scenic!
