On Friday, June 3rd, 334 students accepted their diplomas in the Springfield High School stadium. This is the second class to have graduated on the new athletic fields.
These seniors embodied the four pillars of Springfield School District:
- Academics - challenging themselves through rigorous course offerings
- Arts - expressing their talents through various fine arts electives
- Athletics - participating in our athletics and extra-curricular programs
- Service - contributing to the community through numerous service projects
A few notable accomplishments of the Class of 2022 are listed below.
Liam Beresford won the right to compete at the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference in Chicago in the hope of a National Title.
The following students have earned their rank of Eagle Scout: Jake Byrne, Shawn Gamble, Lukas Miller.
Three students have been accepted into the Williamson Trade School: Cody Grande, Nicholas DelVechio, and Sean Lohr.
Four of our students have made the decision to enlist in the military: Austin Clarke, Cole Dixon, Christ Lamont, and Eileen Pena.
The SHS Awards and Scholarship Ceremony, which was held in May, awarded students with over $215,000. Additionally, students self-reported scholarship amounts totaling $2,589,615.00, with one student reporting over $1 million in scholarships.
Springfield High School Principal, Dr. Daniel Tracy, says, "The Class of 2022 is a special group of students who have demonstrated great grit and determination throughout their time in the Springfield School District. We look forward to all that they accomplish moving forward and welcome them to the family of Springfield Alumni."
After a busy week that included graduation rehearsal, the Senior Walk, and the Senior Party, students were ready to take to the field to accept their diplomas.
We are extremely proud of our graduates and what they have accomplished during their time in the Springfield School District. We look forward to watching them excel as they enter the next chapter of their lives.
