SSD Online Learning

Student Learning Continues Online at SSD

Although the physical classrooms may be temporarily closed, virtual learning experiences are continuing at SSD. Many students are already accustomed to working online with a device (laptop, Chromebook, iPad, tablet), whether at home or at school, and are familiar with accessing our online resources in the classroom.

The SSD staff is working to create meaningful, virtual learning experiences for their students. We hope that your child will take advantage of these virtual learning experiences.

Advice for parents

The most important way that parents can assist their students during this time is to help set the right environment for virtual learning experiences. Helpful tips are:

1. Checking for communications from your child(ren)’s teacher(s) each day.

2. Working with your child to set a reasonable schedule which includes breaks.

3. Having your child work in a common space, removing items that may cause distraction, and regularly monitoring their progress.

4. Starting a conversation with your child(ren) about what they are reviewing.

If your child is having difficulty with their virtual learning experience, please reach out to your child’s teacher for assistance.
