Frank Agovino is a firm believer that a quality education is at the center of a child’s success, and when a child succeeds in Springfield, his/her success will be boundless in the community. For 12 years, this has been Mr. Agovino’s mission as a member of the Springfield Board of School Directors.
The success of the Springfield School District has become even more vital to Mr. Agovino as his own daughter, currently a student at Springfield High School, begins to create her own journey in the same hallways as your children will, or one day will.
A Springfield resident since 1999, Mr. Agovino has immersed himself in various School Board Committees. He is currently the Chairman of the Finance Committee, as well as the Chairman of the Communications Committee. He is also the Legislative Liaison and Board Treasurer.
Mr. Agovino mixes two of his passions, education and business, in his professional life as the Director of Business Training and Workforce Development at Delaware County Community College. He is a self-proclaimed “finance geek” who enjoys following the markets and individual companies.
As an entrepreneur having built several businesses from the ground up, Mr. Agovino believes that when students are introduced to small business ownership and the possibilities of entrepreneurship, their individual goals and work ethic will be positively affected whether they end up business owners or not.
A graduate of Saint Joseph’s University and a former pitcher for the Hawks baseball team, Mr. Agovino is an avid baseball fan. When he is not watching America’s pastime, you can find Mr. Agovino enjoying a meal at Stella, DiFabio's or Barclay Prime.
