Springfield School District

The Springfield High School Future Business Leaders of America recently competed in the Region 19 Leadership Conference (RLC) Virtually. Prior to the conference, members choose one of over 80 business-related competitive events in which they could compete through online objective tests, oral presentations, or prejudged projects as an individual or as a team of up to three members. During this challenging year, students were responsible for scheduling and competing in their events using the technology at their disposal. To say Springfield cleaned up is an understatement. Springfield had 20 students qualify for the State Leadership Competition. These members accounted for 50% of our current membership, our highest percentage to date. This was a major success for the SHS FBLA. Moving forward, students will continue to refine their event and compete in the Virtual State Leadership Conference (SLC) this spring. At the SLC, students will present or test for their event and attend virtual business/technology workshops. At the conclusion of the conference, any competitors that place in the top 4 in their event will continue to the Virtual National Leadership Conference (NLC). Congratulations to everyone who competed at the Regional Leadership Conference, and best of luck to those who qualified for the State Leadership Conference.
