Congratulations to the Springfield School District on having four schools earn a National Blue Ribbon award. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Every year the U. S. Department of Education seeks out and celebrates great American schools that demonstrate that all students can achieve to high levels.
E.T. Richardson Middle School was the first school in Springfield School District to win the award in 1984. Scenic Hills Elementary won the following year, and Springfield High School was awarded in 1988. Sabold is the most recent recipient, having just received the National Blue Ribbon award for the second time.
Congratulations to all members of the Springfield School District and their families. Without the collaboration of all members of the School District, this feat could not have been achieved.
