Parents of Instrumental Music Students
For ten consecutive years, the Springfield School District has been voted as one of the "Best Communities" in the nation for music education.
The award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education.
Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.
Parents of Instrumental Music Students (PIMS)
Does your child play an instrument at Scenic, Sabold, or ETR?
If so, our instrumental teachers (Mrs. Boyer, Ms. Cullen, and Mr. Gibson) and PIMS welcome you to our group. The primary focus of PIMS is to provide support to the instrumental program, our children and their instrumental teachers.
Thanks to our families’ generous support and assistance, some of the many things our group has accomplished over the years are: contributing to the purchase of new stage curtains, concert skirts, music stands, and sound shells for the auditorium (to improve acoustics), repairing instruments, chaperoning and creating programs for concerts, funding field trips to the Philadelphia Orchestra, hosting musician workshops, chaperoning adjudications at Dorney Park/Blue Rocks performances, funding summer instrumental camp scholarships and holding social fun nights at both Linvilla Orchards and the Springfield Ice Skating Rink.
There are numerous opportunities for you to help the program be a success. Be on the lookout for teacher emails or SignUpGenius emails related to activities throughout the year. You can also email any executive board member or teacher directly if you would like to volunteer.
We look forward to an exciting future and hope you will be a part of it.
