Changes in Annual Meeting Requirement

*Important, Please Read*

The Online meeting information will be posted in August.

Returning Students

There will be no “live” meeting for returning 10th -12th grades Families may complete the meeting requirement by reviewing the information on this webpage and completing the required documentation.

Parents/Guardians will then be able to drop off documentation and pick up the materials on scheduled “Pick Up” days.

Because home printer installation information will be given out with the laptops a parent/guardian must be present on the pickup day

Since this is a new process for all of us I would like to take a minute to describe how you should proceed.

First, please listen (or read) the sections provided by clicking on the appropriate link on the webpage.

Second, download, print, and complete the forms on the bottom of the webpage, these forms will be turned in on the distribution day.

Third, complete the online form at the bottom of the webpage, this will act a “signature” to verify that you have completed the online portion of the meeting.

New Students/Incoming Freshmen

Families new to the District and incoming Freshmen need to attend an in person “start of school” meeting for students to be issued a laptop. After completing the meeting requirement, newly enrolled 10th – 12th grade students may pick up the laptop in school after a specific date (to be announced). Freshmen distribution will occur in late September. LAPTOPS WILL NOT BE DISTRIBUTED TO NINTH GRADE OR NEWLY ENROLLED STUDENTS ON THE SUMMER PICKUP DAYS.

Announcements for Summer 2011

- All student laptops and chargers should have been turned in at the end of the school year. The replacement cost for a charger is $50.00.

- All student laptops will have Office 2010 installed as the main word processing suite; this installation will include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, One Note, and Publisher.

- 10th - 12th laptop distribution will take place in August (dates to be announced) please note that the meeting portion of the distribution will be online. Parents will need to pick up the laptop in order to get printer installation information.

- A new printing procedure will go into place for the 2011-2012 school year. Students will only have limited access to printers while on campus, parents will be given home printer installation instructions when they pick up the laptop.

Printer installation:

Parents may contact Mr. Nelson by phone or e-mail to obtain a username and password that will allow them to install a home printer on the student computer. (You will need to obtain your printer software from either a CD or the manufacturer website)

In school, student access to printers will be limited to the LMC and pod printers.

In school printing restrictions - Students are allowed to print 50 pages from the printer in the LMC. These limits are reset at the end of every month, students who require additional printing for class assignments should let their teacher know and the limit can be raised.
