school psychologist

School psychologists are members of school teams that support students' ability to learn. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School psychologists work with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments.

All children and youth can face problems from time to time related to learning; social relationships; making difficult decisions; or managing emotions such as feeling depressed, anxious, worried, or isolated. School psychologists help students, families, educators, and members of the community understand and resolve both long-term, chronic problems and short-term issues that students may face.

Hello Springfield families,

I hope that you are figuring out this new challenge of balancing home life, work and virtual schooling. It is not easy, but we can all work together to help each other out. Springfield is an amazingly supportive community! We are all lucky to have one another. We can't literally lend a helping hand, but we reach out to others in so many other ways. Let's take this challenge and help one another the best way we know how. If you are in need of help, please reach out to a staff member, neighbor, or friend. Helping others, taking action, and accomplishing a task, helps us to feel better.
