SUMMER READING

  • Summer Reading packets were given out on Wednesday, 5/19
  • Each student signed when receiving a Summer Reading packet!!!!
  • SUMMER READING JOURNAL ENTRIES FROM ALL STUDENTS ARE DUE ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IN SEPTEMBER!

  • IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT SUMMER READING:
    • "College Prep" courses are simply the new name for regular courses (not Honors or AP"
    • Options are found on page 3
    • If a student has Language Arts in the 2nd semester, he/she must turn in the summer reading journal on the 1st day of school to the Advisor
    • The last page of the packet has a form that MUST be turned in with the journal entries - signatures of student AND parent are required!

STUDENT E-MAIL

  • Student e-mail is up and running, this year every student will have an e-mail address that you can use to contact them and that can also be used for such services as Turn It In.

  • This should be the main contact between students and teachers (as opposed to students' personal e-mail addresses). With the goal of preparing them for a college and workplace e-mail account - and learning the difference between personal and "business" communications, Mr. McKnight and the SHS Faculty are going to be expecting the students to consistently check these accounts.

  • The student e-mail address will be username@ssdstudent.org (the username consists only of letters does not have punctuation like hyphens or apostrophes)

  • Additional information, and the link for students to access the e-mail, can be located at the following address. http://www.ssdcougars.org/webpages/rnelson/email.cfm
