SSD Virtual Learning

Student Learning Continues Online at SSD

Although the physical classrooms may be temporarily closed, virtual learning experiences are continuing at SSD. Many students are already accustomed to working online with a device (laptop, Chromebook, iPad), whether at home or at school, and are familiar with accessing our online resources in the classroom.

The SSD staff uses the Canvas Learning Management system to deliver online instruction for their students. Click the link to the right for more information and to log on.

Technology Updates for Parents

Advice for parents

The most important way that parents can assist their students during this time is to help set the right environment for virtual learning experiences. Helpful tips are:

1. Checking for communications from your child(ren)’s teacher(s) each day.

2. Working with your child to set a reasonable schedule which includes breaks.

3. Having your child work in a common space, removing items that may cause distraction, and regularly monitoring their progress.

4. Starting a conversation with your child(ren) about what they are reviewing.

If your child is having difficulty with their virtual learning experience, please reach out to your child’s teacher for assistance.
