Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate and earn a diploma from Springfield HS, all must meet the following requirements:

  1. Successfully complete and earn credit for courses as detailed in the table below.
  2. Demonstrate proficiency on Keystone Examinations in the areas of Algebra I, Biology and English Literature. These exams will be administered near the end of the completion of the course
    • Students that do not demonstrate proficiency on the Algebra I, Biology, and English Literature Exams will be required to complete a project-based assessment for each subject area for which they do not demonstrate proficiency.
    • Students will be scheduled for this course(s), and the course(s) will take the place of elective courses in the student’s schedule.

Elective Credits

12th Grade – No more than 3.5 elective credits in any one department can be applied towards fulfilling the Humanities, Technologies, & Arts requirement.
